EBB AND FLOW COLLECTION The ever changing weather in New Orleans and Coastal Louisiana can be dramatic and awe-inspiring. When a storm is approaching and during the event itself, I find myself mesmerized by the dynamic colors and patterns of weather radar. These paintings are in part an imaginative response to this visual stimuli. Acrylic paints were poured in a freeform manner. Some areas were left open to reveal the textured and patterned surfaces underneath much like an aerial view through parting clouds reveals the landscape below. The colors interact in random and unpredictable ways during the drying process, mimicking the variability of the shifting states of weather and water.
